[Birthday Bash] Celebrating Birthdays - The Project Life Way

Hello Neat & Tangled friends! How is your week going? Are you entering our challenges? It's getting crazy busy with all the giveaways, and we have almost hit the half way mark!

Birthday Q&A
One reader asked the following....

Happy Birthday. I would like to see projects combining new and older sets.

And to help answer this question we're bringing Neat & Tangled expert Barb Murphy on board. Yep - I put the Little Tangles Super Women (aka Design Team) to work to help answer questions... You asked, here's one way of mixing old and new sets with a complete different take - Project Life!

Who of you are Project Lifers? Show your hands and 'fess up! Danielle uses this mechanism to document her life with her family. I have been meaning to get started. Does buying a bunch of Project Life kits count? ;) Anyways, back to Barb

Today I'd like to share a birthday inspired project...but with a little twist! I loved the idea of challenging myself to come up with a different (different for me anyway) way to commemorate a birthday. Specifically, Neat & Tangled's birthday! To that end, I created a few cards that could be used in a Project Life layout. Now I'm not a scrapbooker or Project Lifer, so you'll have to be patient with me.

I started with 2x3 cards. I used some older sets in the first one...Just Hello, Little Tangles and My Heart Sings. The sentiment is a pun drawing on the music notes stamped on the banner. Gold Metallic sequins sparkle up the front...

This one uses Just Thinking of You, Party Dots and Sunburst.

This last 2x3 card is my favorite. I LOVE the heart images in My Heart Sings...

Of the three 2x3 cards, I liked the first one on it's own as an accent piece. I felt that the other two would make awesome focal points for 4x6 cards.

The first features the aqua sunburst card. It serves as a hiding place for a list of my favorite N&T stamp sets! The 4x6 card features the adorable bird from Swirly Twirly Tags. Mint Satin sequins decorate the base.

Here's that list. I can't believe that I forgot about Little Tangles :'(  This list is a work in progress of course. Every time Danielle releases new sets, this list will grow.

And last but certainly not least, Sketchy Cupcakes makes an appearance. I LOVE the hand drawn images and sentiments in this set.

So, what do you think? Do you use stamping in your Project Life or scrapbooking layouts? What Neat & Tangled sets would you use?

Thanks so much for helping us celebrate Neat & Tangled's birthday this month. Be sure to stop by the blog ... all month long!

Happy Crafting!!
Barb
